Whats it worth Antique shops are full of old items, selling for large amounts of money. But is it really worth much even when it gets old? This appears to be a major concern to a lot of you out there, judging from the E-mail's we get each month asking for a value of the mailers cycle. So how can you tell what it really is worth? Well there are web sites and books out there which will give you a good idea, but for more common cycles it may be a little harder. However, all is not really lost. Any item is only worth what a buyer is willing to spend, so when selling it is important to attract as many buyers as possible. Many people will use auction houses or sale rooms, but now with the help of the internet, sites like E-bay are becoming very popular for both sellers and buyers. This makes it a great place to value you items too. We took a look at some auctions that took place in 2004 & 2005 to see what prices old bicycles sold for. |

The seller of this Chopper really went to town on his advert and it paid off. Choppers reach good money anyway and are very collectable. With the aid of a slide show and borders from the auction site itself, this bike attracted 16 bids. It sold for 440 GBP |

| Going, Going, Gone. These three items were offered up on E-bay in early April 2005. The seller has kindly allowed us to use his pictures for this artical. First up was a Vindec boys delivery cycle, which for 36 gbp. Next was an old rear oil lamp, which sold for 10.50 gbp, and finally came a 1930's Sunbeam, which made it to 255.00 gbp. Goes to show, that each item is only worth what the buyer is willing to pay. Thanks to all the sellers of these items for allowing us to publish this. GBP = Pounds sterling, UK |
